Born and raised in Lexington, I feel so lucky to be a part of the news team I’ve grown up watching.

I grew up in a media family and have been fascinated with broadcasting ever since I took WLAP FM off the air by pushing a blinking button at age three. But the path to a job in broadcasting hasn’t been direct.

I started my education in Lexington, but for middle school, I went to boarding school in a small city southwest of London, England. I came back to Kentucky for High School and was eager to go to the University of Kentucky for college. During my time at UK, I had the good fortune to study abroad as well as travel. I also served as a legislative intern at the Capitol in Frankfort and was very involved with Student Government. At UK, I took several Journalism classes and was a contributor to the newspaper, The Kentucky Kernel. My love of news and world travel helped me decide to be a Political Science major with a focus in Latin American Politics and Spanish.

I started an internship at WKYT in June of 2003, simply to finish my last three hours of college credit before furthering my education. I guess you could say I started working in this business by accident, and I am so glad I found a job I love. Upon completing my internship, I was offered a part-time weekend position that has since turned into the full-time weekday position of Education Reporter.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and try to travel as much as possible. I’m a huge UK fan and I go to as many games as I can. I also like to give back to this great community and have been involved for years with the American Cancer Society and recently started working with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass.
Happy Holidays
